Galactic Radio Network ("we", "us", "our") operates the Galactic Radio Weather service ("Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we receive and store:
- Email address — used as your account identifier and for service communications.
- Display name — shown in the app interface and on generated reports when applicable.
- Profile photo URL — displayed in the app for your convenience. We do not store the image itself; we reference the URL provided by Google.
- Google UID — a unique identifier used internally to link your account data.
We do not receive or store your Google password.
1.2 Usage Data
We collect information about how you use the Service:
- Weather report requests — location, date, time of day, voice/DJ selection, and duration parameters.
- Generation history — job status, timestamps, and audio file references.
- Credit transactions — credit usage, subscription changes, and billing events.
- API access logs — API key usage, request timestamps, and endpoints accessed.
1.3 Generated Content
When you generate a weather report, we store:
- The generated audio file in cloud storage, associated with your account.
- The text script used to produce the audio.
- Metadata about the generation (weather data used, voice parameters, duration).
1.4 Technical Data
We automatically collect standard technical information:
- IP address and approximate geographic location (derived from IP).
- Browser type, operating system, and device information.
- Referral URLs and pages visited within the Service.

3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:
- Service providers: We use third-party services to operate the platform, including Google Cloud (hosting, storage, authentication), Open-Meteo (weather data), and AI voice providers (ElevenLabs, Google Gemini) for audio generation. These providers process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies.
- Organization members: If you belong to an organization, other members and the organization owner can see your display name, email, and role within the organization. Credit usage within an organization is aggregated at the organization level.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Account data and generation history are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, encrypted at rest and in transit.
- Generated audio files are stored in Google Cloud Storage with access controls tied to your account.
- API keys are stored as salted hashes; the plaintext key is shown once at creation and never stored.
- Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication using Google OAuth 2.0.
- All API communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
5. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
- Generated audio files: Retained until you delete them or your account is terminated. Files may be deleted after 90 days of account inactivity.
- Usage logs: Retained for up to 12 months for service improvement and abuse prevention, then anonymized or deleted.
- Technical logs: Retained for up to 90 days for debugging and security purposes.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: View your account data, generation history, and stored files through the Account tab.
- Deletion: Delete individual audio files from the Files section. Request full account deletion by contacting support@galacticradio.network.
- Export: Download your generated audio files at any time.
- API keys: Generate new keys or revoke existing ones from the Account tab.
- Opt out: You may stop using the Service at any time by signing out.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), you also have rights under GDPR including the right to data portability, the right to restrict processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
For users in California, you have rights under CCPA including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion of your personal information.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
The Service uses:
- Firebase Authentication tokens: Stored in browser local storage to maintain your signed-in session. These are essential for the Service to function.
- No third-party tracking cookies: We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice within the Service. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
